Temporary Spousal Support: Once you reach an agreement, prepare a “Stipulation and Order” with the FL-343 “Spousal, Partner or Family Support Order Attachment” and file it with the court clerk. For detailed instructions, review “Obtaining Temporary Orders” in TheCompleteDivorce program.
If you cannot reach an agreement, your other option is to file a request for temporary spousal support with the family court. Review the instructions in “Obtaining Temporary Orders.”
Some couples do not need a temporary spousal support order. For example, they each earn enough to support themselves, or the higher earner continues to support the lower earner as done while they were married. In that case, the couples need to just resolve permanent spousal support.
